Sans knew he wasn't like them... his origins were different from most. He was built from the ground up by the hands of one of most brilliant scientists, and from day one given the purpose of collecting human souls.
Given the part no one wanted.
He was created to play the role of an executioner.
He never expected to be activated for so long. So imagine his surprise when he's made it to see monster reach the surface. He knew he wasn't made to last this long. His body already showing signs of wear and deteriorating. Slowing down until his inevitable shut down.
Having hidden what he was for so long, sans struggles to fix himself in secret lest the others find out.
But this proves to be difficult as it seems things from his past just now want to come to the surface.

Frisk has freed the monsters of the Underground. Finally, monster kind is allowed to return to the surface. It's been 3 years since then. Yet the monsters still struggle to find their place within the world. Most accept the monsters, but there are those who wish nothing more than the complete annihilation of monster kind. Merely sealing them away is not enough. As ambassador for the monsters, it is Frisk's responsibility to fight for everyone's right to live on the surface. But at the same time, an internal battle rages on within her. Not only that, her relationship with Sans is strained. Trust is not so easily regained after the slaughter of one's beloved, despite it all being erased. Or was it really? How could a few measly children stand to this supposedly immortal foe and save the Underground from destruction? Is it even possible to do so? That means no Soriel, Papyton, etc. The only ships are Torgore (in the past) and Alphyne. •This is NOT an x reader. I dislike those types of stories. The reader will have no part in this, and they will not be shipped with anyone. •This exists outside of canon to an extreme. For example, Frisk is the second human and not the eighth. •There will be OCs, but only for a few humans and they still technically exist in normal Undertale. •There is a sequel. I'm planning on rewriting it after this one, as it is much more random and definitely needs it. Clanky, plot holes/retconning, etc. It's more of an OC thing, to explore them and their issues, than an Undertale thing, but it has its similarities. •There will be some explicitives. Papyrus for Sans, and I really liked the idea of a creepy UT! Papyrus and decided to write a short story on it. Also, Frisk can't reset, she never had that ability. The cover is my own art.)
