With marriage tie's to almost every house and an alliance with the wizarding royal of Valois, the potters made sure they not only held power in money, magic and knowledge but also political power as well 

Now only two members of house potter live, harry potter who knows nothing about his heritage. And delphine Valois nee potter the current dowager queen consort of France, A women Who at the age 21 married the future King of France, When she heard that her Grandnephew James potter and His wife lily has died leaving the heir to her house an orphan she left France for England to find the boy, but when her search turned up empty, only to find he has surfaced at Hogwarts but with no way of reaching him
