Circie Atole Lalande has spent her entire life running; from her name, her family, her fate, and a mysterious power that others around her seem eager to harness and exploit by any means necessary. Uncertain whom to trust, or where to go, she receives an opportunity to attend Lupercalia Academy for the Divine Arts, where she can learn to control her abilities and uncover the truth about her legacy and powers. With trepidation, Circie sets forth on a journey that would test her mettle, challenge her perceptions, and force her to confront the tangled web of secrets and lies that entwines her family's history. The path to LADA beckons, its ancient walls whispering promises of knowledge and power. It is within these hallowed halls that Circie would seek to unearth the truth, not only about herself but also about the world that teetered on the precipice of chaos.
"Lupercalia Academy for the Divine" is a dark acedamia, alternative history, fantasy novel that takes inspiration from the likes of "The Magicians" and "The Ninth House" by Leigh Bardugo. I'm looking for constructive criticism and advice on consistency and flow and for anyone whose interested in beta reading for me. I'm posting my first draft on wattpad for anyone who wants to follow along 💚💚
