If you liked The Life of Single Parents you'll probably like this au, this is just more dramatic to fit more traditional western movies.

Aaron, a teacher, moved to a small town with his daughter. He aimed to leave behind his past in the city and embark on a new life in peace. He began by restoring the abandoned school and doing what he loved by giving each child a fair chance to be educated. It wasn't always easy in the untamed town, especially not with the local farmer and his son testing his patience. Still, through shared experiences, both fond and dangerous, the teacher would find his heart captivated with the farm and its owner.

Alexander was a farmer who almost constantly works in order to feed the town, he was the only farmer for quite some distance so the responsibility had fallen on him. He was a well-educated man and did his best to teach his son, but with upholding the duties of the farm as well as teaching, he felt he was growing behind a little more each day, so when a new teacher arrived he was happy to let his son attend. Little had he known the adventures this choice would bring and just how much of an impact the teacher would have on his life, both socially and romantically.

Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!
The Traitors by Katalyn_Hellinski
17 parts Ongoing Mature
The Mallard Corporation was one of the largest research and development labs in the Eastern Division. After several years of testing, they released a serum to the public said to enhance pre-existing traits within a person's genetic makeup. The distribution was a success, but the aftermath declared the serum defected. People were developing unnatural abilities and began reeking havoc within the city. A recall was in order and those who had taken the serum, now referred to as Traitors, were gathered up to be transported to a holding location until these Traits could be removed. While some had uncontrollable Traits, others had Traits which were easier to hide so they remained inconspicuous to the public eye. Logan Fierce was constantly battling the demons in his past. It had been three years since his release from Mal Corp, but the trauma he faced was ever present. Determined to fulfill a request left behind by a friend, he encounters Phoenix Monroe; a fellow Traitor who was predicted to change his life forever. Together, the pair jumpstart a series of events which would lead them down a path filled with cover-ups, mayhem, and the truth hidden within Mal Corp. Follow their journey in this dual POV as they discover the secrets no one was supposed to know and the danger that surrounds them. **This story contains adult themes such as: strong language, abuse, sexual situations, self-harm, and violence** Sensitive chapters which may be triggering for readers are marked with asterisks. *If any of the following are triggering for you as the reader, please don't read or read at your own discretion. Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.
