this story is heavily inspired by the movie "All Quiet on the Western Front"  (watch that movie it's on Netflix and it's amazing) it follows a 17 year old Finney Blake  being sent to fight in the trenches with his dear friends Robin Arellano and Bruce Yamada. Gwen refuses to let Finney go but is not able to convince him to stay. Finney enters the trenches and immediately regrets it and wished that something would bring him home. In a twisted sort of events of loss and grief he meets a stranger named Vance hopper and a mysterious boy Billy showalter who he is unsure of what side he is on. Finney finds a strange boy griffin stagg who fights on the enemy side.
