Rittenhouse, "The Cradle Will Fall" is an examination of the perceptions surrounding a leftist revolt when compared to a right wing one - á la Jan. 6th. It serves as a manifesto, a creed that where an anarchist is martyred, it takes the rest of us to fill their gaps.

I ran downstairs into the living room, my heart pounding as I found all my brothers gathered around Nefeli. Her eyes were frantic, scanning the room, desperately searching for me. The scream that bastard had let out earlier must have reached her... The moment our eyes met, she practically threw herself at me, wrapping her arms around me so tightly I could barely breathe. I stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do. I hugged her back anyway... Even though I had no idea what was going on. "Thank God you're safe" she murmured in my ear, her voice trembling, leaving me even more confused. I glanced at my brothers. They all looked just as lost as I was. Except for Aiden and Alex. They were motioning for me to hold on. "Of course I'm okay, Nefeli. What happened?" I asked, my heart tightening. I hated seeing her like this, so worried and panicked. "I-I heard Alex and Aiden talking in Italian!" she stammered, her eyes wide with panic. "They said something about the Mafia! Are we being threatened by the Mafia?" Five years have passed since the series of shocking and brutal murders known as 'the Tarot Killings' swept across Daleclay. Yet now, in the "present" of the early 1950s, amidst the scenery of two similarly typical American towns - Regal Falls, and the neighboring Pierton - a potentially deadlier menace has begun to simmer... Several school-age boys - each with an organ connected to one of the vital senses, removed from the body - have been murdered; a local history professor, along with his cerebral assistant, deduce that waxen symbols purposely discarded at the scenes point towards the practices of an ancient, Mithraic cult. Simultaneously summoned to offer the Regal Falls police a more unorthodox kind of aid, is the renegade detective known as Troy Porter - himself still struggling against a near-breakdown from the events five years prior.
