The girl I was holding whimpered again, and I pulled her close to my body. I clamped on hand over her mouth as I pointed to a room. She nodded her head, and we slowly crept our way to the back room. I was doing good to stay out of my guys’ ways when Collin cleared his throat. I cursed to myself as I turned and faced him.
“Yes?” I asked impatiently. The girl I was holding bit down on my hand hard and kneed me in the balls. “Damn you, Collin.”
“What did I do?” Collin shouted as he pulled out his pistol. I knew he wouldn’t shoot me. It dawned on me then that the girl was running away. I grabbed my gun and fired two shots just above her and to the side of her before Collin could even cock his.
The pretty brunette stopped with her hand on the doorknob as she looked at the bullet hole above her head, and then at the one right next to her head.

He had only a few inches of light brown wavy hair on top of his head and very little on the sides, yet he was spending his mornings making sure it laid in the perfect spot and looked just messy enough to act like he didn't care. He was setting out his clothes at night so that his jeans wouldn't have wrinkles in them. He was brushing his teeth for double as long as he normally would. He even invested in some floss. When he would go downstairs to Mugz, he would make sure to put on the cleanest Mugz sweater he had. He started sweeping more. Especially around the time she would be in, if only to be out in the lobby with her instead of having to talk over the counter. Alice was the same as always. She was very good at not showing an effect that his words had on her if she didn't want to. Any time she would say something suggestive or bold, Felix would find himself blushing or stuttering, but on the rare occasion that Felix would try to be as bold, she would just grin and laugh.
