Life Too Quickly (prologue story)
"Dad!" I yell as I walk into the house. I'm greeted by nothing, except silence. My dad is rarely home, I don't know what I am expecting. Ever since my mom died, he's been nothing but distant with me. I mean, he was always distant, even before mom passed, but before, I thought that he just didn't care about me, now... I know he doesn't. ********** "Hello?" I say through the phone, grabbing a cloth, running it through the faucet, and pressing it against my knee. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I hear a chorus of people yelling through the crackly phone. I start to laugh. ******** My mom had died. My dad is an alcoholic that doesn't care about me. I have three best friends. One new friend (Who's a bartender/stripper/lesbian). A great job as a DJ at this amazing club. And a whole new idea to get away from my dad and stop holding on to the past. ********** "It called and emancipation," she said through the phone, laughing, knowing that I was anxious. What the HELL is emancipation!? How can it get me away from my dad!? ******** Then I meet him.Complete
Facing the Kings
"With his death I nearly met mine. Till revenge told me to behead the King." Cameron Martinez, an unnoticed girl who lives in Chicago which seems to be Gang Headquarters for the most dangerous gangsters in America. Her oldest brother, Leon, used to be one of them and died because of it, shot in an alley late at night, alone. Leon supported the Martinez family with his earnings from being a gang member while their mother bought dope. With Leon gone, Cameron and her six siblings have rough times financially. She can do one of three things. 1. Join Leon's old gang, the Chicago Kings. 2. Be a stripper like her mother 3. Become a thief Since the first two don't remotely please her, Cameron went with the third choice. But she doesn't steal petty things such as wallets, T.Vs or anything so cheap. She decides to take from those who took the most precious thing from her; the gangs that haunt the streets and terrorize Chicago's citizens. Cameron goes around emptying the pockets of gangsters, stealing the dirty money they don't deserve. Yes, she realizes how dangerous and dumb this is, but she won't let her family starve. People will eventually see Cameron Martinez as a vigilante heroine, but it was never she who did those kind acts. She can't understand how they could think remarkably high of her when she merely wants to put food on the table. * Robbing gangs isn't smart, at all. When the Chicago Kings hear of Cam's doings, they get worried and paranoid. If one insignificant little girl has the balls to steal from them, what will stop everyone else? When Angel Montez, CK enforcer and Leon's best friend gets the command to kill the Vigilante Heroine he has a clear order. One he fully intended to follow through with. What he didn't plan was being interested in her or that she's the younger sister of the dear friend he lost. Now Angel must pick his own destiny instead of following another. The Dark Witch: The Nox Haven Series
I'd Like to think I was a good person, before it all began. I didn't cheat on tests, or steal. But throughout my entire life, I was treated if I were a monster. At the age of five, after several agonizing tests, I was diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder. But not even that title could describe just how strange I was. When another kid got hurt, I would cry. Whenever someone else was told a funny joke, I would laugh hysterically. People looked at me as if I were crazy- and for while I agreed with them. That was until I, Caddie Jones, was exiled to Nox Haven Academy, a school for truly special kids. Not the mentally ill, psychotic kind of special but the magical kind. Like witches, vampires, fairies and werewolves. Call me crazy if you want, you wouldn't be the first. But the stories are all true. The supernatural did exist and I was one of them. Life there was cool until suddenly, I was faced with two-faced witches, egotistical princes, hormone driven werewolves, and an army of evil warlocks who were threatening to destroy the world. ... Maybe Nox Haven was a school for psychos after all. ---------------------------------------------------------- Highest Rank: #2 in Paranormal 1st Place winner of The Night Shift's Killer Competition 4/10/16 Illustration by: Stephanie Pitino (www.ClairObscur.fr) (1st book in series)Complete
Werewolves and Vampires
Werewolves and Vampires is the story of, you guessed it, werewolves and vampires. Lila Silver had been a pretty normal girl until her sixteenth birthday and her dad decided to move her and her step-sister, leaving her old friends, old school and old life as a human behind. All of a sudden, she was thrust into the world of supernatural creatures without even having a say in the matter. Before she could even adjust to that bit of news, there were news reports about teenage girls going missing and showing up days later, drained of blood. After discovering one of the bodies, Lila suddenly becomes the new target of the killer. In between dealing with the secrets and dynamics of being a werewolf, the totally not cliche grudge between the vamps and werewolves, being the potential next murder victim of a mysterious and possibly non-human killer, and a hottie with fangs that she sometimes kind of wanted to make out with and other times wanted to rip his throat out, Lila was definitely going to have a totally normal, average life in this new town.Complete
