As summer begins, 16 year old Victoria Ragsdill travels to Jericho, Vermont to stay with family during break. Knowing only a small amount of the trauma this town recently experienced, she is determined to get answers from the locals and a few students from the well-known Nevermore Academy, along with the help of her two cousins and a few friends made along the way. 
    With new murder cases piling up since the day of her arrival, she wonders if those she has entrusted and befriended are really as they seem, or is there a bloodthirsty killer unexpectedly lying beneath?

She looked at him impassively, and his eyes darkened as he took her in. Clearly, he saw something that piqued his interest in the same way hers had been piqued. "Oh my God, Wednesday," Enid's shrill voice interrupted her observations, but Wednesday didn't break eye contact with the strange boy. "Don't look at him!" The girl's voice was shaky with fear. Wednesday turned to look at her, assessing her nervous form. Damn, the boy really was inspiring fear. Wednesday hoped she could quickly inspire the same effect. "Who is he?" "That's Tyler Gaplin.
