This is my ONC submission for prompt 29: When you touch a mirror, it ripples like water. You dive in.


Lorraine has a very boring life. She is just an average 14 year old teenager with nothing to do, but school. She has no siblings. However, when she touches her own mirror, she notices some ripples. Astonished by what she witnessed, she quickly puts on her swim gear, and dives into the mirror, swimming down to the bottom of an ocean world. 

The name of the ocean world is Fashara, which is heavily populated by mermaids. The mermaid queen, Rosha, welcomes Lorraine with open arms. She gets along with most of the mermaids, and they have one request that cannot be denied; be one of them.

Lorraine realizes that she cannot deny the request, lest she be sentenced to death. How would she get back home? She got to Fashara by a mirror. Is there any way back home? Or is she doomed to stay in Fashara forever?
