The Imperium of Laurentia, a small but vibrant star nation, is embroiled in intergalactic espionage.
Malcolm Kerslake, former Servant of the Imperium has a troubled past, burdened with self-doubt following a disastrous mission. An explosion of mayhem catapults him from a life filled with hiding from his past back into the shadowy war spanning the galaxy.
Now Malcolm finds himself racing across the galaxy to reunite himself with his old teammates, Kasper Beauregard, the playboy, Timothy Raydn, the steadfast demolitions expert, and Lochinvar Kincaid, the technician. Together again, the friends must blaze a trail from one star system to the other, protecting each from the enemies of the Imperium and in so doing, serving to protect the Imperium from its many enemies.
Will Malcolm and his friends succeed, or will the Imperium fall to its enemies?
