In a world where everybody is born with 10 lives, due to events during her teenage years, Katherine has only 1 life left.
Being convinced by her best friend, Cove, she interviews at a coffee shop. After running into the owner of the cafe the day of her interview, she tries to avoid him to the best of her abilities.
As Dalaric tries to get closer with Katherine, she's afraid he'll find out about her remaining life. This causes her to keep herself distant but curious about him. It's clear they have something between them, but Katherine won't admit it.
Will Katherine be able to stay away far enough from Dalaric and save them both from pain or will she fail?
