All the world will be your enemy
Prince with a thousand enemies.
And when they catch you, they will kill you
But first, they must catch you.
Digger, Listener, Runner.
Prince with a swift warning.
Be cunning and full of tricks.
And your people will never be destroyed.
This was a quote from a classic called watership Down, written by Richard Adam.
I remember how my mother would read it to me late at night whenever I couldn't sleep.
I remember how I admired the Rabbit prince back then. How I would cheer for him during all of his hurdles.
That helpless weak rabbit, outran, outsmarted, and outlived all his thousand enemies.
I wanted to be like him, a fighter, a surviver.
I never thought there would be a day were I would actually become like him.
Like an actual rabbit with a thousand enemies.
These words, "I'll kill any guy who comes close to you," and "If I don't have you, nobody else will."
We took them too lightly.
We all had things that happened to us which we vowed never to talk about. Secrets we kept. The lies we said. The heartaches that still hurts at night and the forbidden sex we had with other people.
Above all, that one person who didn't fit in the fabulous life we lived.
High school was trash. All the threats and fights which occurred made us hate the word 'School'
Hoping college would be a good start for us, we held our heads up high like saints.
If I'm to really confess what happened, I would say WE all KILLED him.
