In the future of America, the people have been enslaved, destined to live out their lives in poverty. The day the sky goes dark, the Choosing has come around. A selection of ten kids ages twelve through twenty-two have their names drawn to be picked to go work in the harsh conditions of the local factories.
If you are picked you most certainly will die, something that the rich folks like to push under the rug. Being selected however, means you can discover the secrets before your life comes to a close.
