Not Your Everyday Fairy Tale

Genevieve, the princess of Varelle, spent her whole life reading fairy tales about princesses who were saved by princes or knights in dazzling armor. There were death defying battles with dragons, evil witches, and most of all, magic. It seemed that every princess had some sort of story to tell.
But not Genevieve. She wanted no part of that. No locked away in a tower, no falling in love, no Happily Ever After. Her parents, the King and Queen of Varelle, often told her that she would find her true love and change her mind, but Genevieve always blew them off. The words she used were never the kindest, and she was often told off on her attitude, but she never cared.

James, the Prince of Arionne, also grew up reading the stories, and they gave him a rather high opinion of himself. They made him believe that every girl he met would instantly love him. Therefore, he went through life sitting on a throne of ego taller than the tallest mountain. But underneath his egotistical façade, all he wants is just that, someone to love him.
