Every month another woman or girl showed up, scared, scarred, and wild, remembering nothing but their names, every one of them becoming survivors under the guidance of Swan - the fierce leader. But... There was another side. Another glade. Like theirs, except for the fact it was completely opposite.

When Thomas figures out a way out of the maze, Gally refuses to go with the group. It's hard for Ivy to choose, but she chooses to escape. She knows she'll miss Gally, but she already misses the freedom she can't remember having. While escaping through the maze, Ivy gets lost, chased by a Griever. But she manages to find the way out after a while. In there, she finds Gally and Chuck, dead. But is Gally really dead? Only minutes later the two get saved by mysterious, uniform wearing people who take them to the "crank army". Leaving Chuck behind.
