While all of this happens under sea, back on land Tarabelle's older brother Ridge, attempts to find out what exactly happened to her. He is convinced that his little sister would not commit suicide...or would she? This is the dazzling story about a girl who's life got turned upside down the day she wanted to die. Merpeople both fear and hate humans and if Felicity's human identity is found out she is to be executed. So having a crush on the king's right hand man, Jeremy Sea and being friends with the prince of Atlantis is probably not the best way to go about being unnoticed. So why can't Felicity grasp the enormity of her situation. Maybe meeting the prince, going on a dragon ride, becoming a dolphin rider, fighting sharks and swordfish, killing the Kraken and owning the most powerful sword in the sea has her a little distracted. Trying to live two separate lives is no easy feat while going back from Lakewood to Atlantis her web of lies is growing and it will only be a matter of time before she gets caught as she struggles to decide what life she wants to live. Risk losing the only family she's ever known on land for a life of adventure and magic in the sea is something no seventeen year old should have to decide.

My name is Skylar Smith, On a normal walk back home from a friends house, a storm hits. I get sucked down into a whirlpool and I come out with fins. Now each passing day I'm becoming more mermaid than human. Later, when I'm almost fully mermaid, the REAL mermaids want me to stay in the ocean forever with them. I have to stay away from the real mermaids and I can't let people know. I have to avoid water the best I can. I have to find a way to reverse the curse before time runs out....
