17-year-old Madison Ross isn't your average teenage girl. First things off, she's head captain of the boys' hockey team, not the girls. Not only that, but she's one of the best on the team. Her hockey team is trying to beat their arch nemesis, Carmel High's hockey team, and they know they can beat them. Maddie's not the kind of girl who obsesses over little things. She's not into things that most girls enjoy. One thing about her though is that she's had a tough past, but she tries to push it aside and replaces it with a smile. When her best friend, Riley, sets her up on a date with a guy named River Kingston, Maddie tries to get the date over with just for Riley, but it's not what she expects. The two immediately hit it off, discovering the both of them have the exact same interests. What happens when the person you grew to enjoy their company was actually the person you had to grow to hate? What happens when a coincidental rivalry gets in the way and complicates everything?
