During the AIDS epidemic of the 1990's, Phil Lester and roomate PJ Ligouri are down on their luck as they can't pay the rent for the second year in a row.  Phil is a fallen rockstar who would've been famous if it weren't for the death of his boyfriend and the infection that was HIV. PJ is an aspiring filmmaker, documenting everything he sees for a documentary that he's trying to create. There's someone, though. Someone Phil has interest in. A dancer at the local club, the Cat Scratch, has got his attention, and he hates it. This young dancer will drag Phil into the most fun he's ever had, but also the saddest times he'll ever endure.
