Despite regaining their freedom from the Rainbow Factory, things aren't quite going as WoodenToaster and Amber Strike expected. Mystery is dead. Amber is depressed. Glaze completely blames himself. Princess Celestia doesn't seem to trust any of them. As for a fitting reward for shutting down one of the most dangerous facilities in Equestria? Ha, fat chance. 
Angry and hopeless, the two ponies are stuck in Canterlot, planning Mystery's funeral service... But when things don't go quite as expected, they find out that it isn't over yet. Oh no, not even close. Maybe, just maybe, somepony escaped the explosion... And maybe, just maybe, they might be looking for revenge.

After she Notes Sunset about her coming and staying in the world Sunset now calls home, she goes through the portal back to Canterlot High. When she gets there, a ᏟᎬᎡᎢᎪᏆN, ᏴᏞᏌᎬ ᎻᎪᏆᎡᎬᎠ, ᏩᏌᏆᎢᎪᎡ ᏢᏞᎪYᎬᎡ just happens to be sitting by the portal thinking about twilight and wishing he could see her again.
