I titled this book my life, my story, on my terms because it's exactly that. I wrote this book in to be able to finally speak my truth about the events that have happened to me and it finally is personalized without any other take on what somebody else thought or what somebody else believes or intake is on all of it. After so long of being told things from others especially those that have never gone through what I have before for so long, I've finally reached a complete point of totally keeping other's opinions out of this. I'm here to tell my story, from parts of my life, and it's all on my terms. I'm the one that went through it, and am here to speak the truth about it. I must say, it feels awesome to be able to finally release this book for all to read my story. I truly hope in return, not only will you no longer have questions about me if you did before, that I will also have inspired or helped you in some sort of way, whether emotionally, mentally, or in a soul type of way and understanding. I explain what's happened in my life, why it's happened, and the solutions I've come too. I also give advice through my own experiences on how to find and be your best self, and how to deal with feelings, emotions, and thoughts. I hope all enjoys this book and can learn or incorporate some of the things that I have done and do into their life to truly benefits them in some type of way.

Fated Series. Book #2 "Be possessive of me, own me, keep me, because if you do then nothing and no one else can." - Maddox. My name is Maddox Vallero, and I'm dead. Well, that's not quite true. I'm alive in the breathing, walking, talking sense-but that's about where it ends. The ghosts in my head remind me daily that I'm just a shell. Physically present, mentally shattered. For years, I've let time slip past, ticking away like I'm still trapped in that coffin, six feet under, slowly losing pieces of myself. I gave up long before I even opened my eyes this morning. So when you see me smiling, promising you the world, it's all a lie. And you'll believe it, because I'm that good. Lying, cheating, tricking-it's my game. I'm a master at making you trust in the illusion, even as I turn around and steal everything back. But somewhere along the line, I tricked myself. Now, I don't know where my lies end and the truth begins. My sanity's as fragile as the mask I wear. Then she walked in. The executive assistant I was forced to hire-a woman who sees straight through me. I lie, and she calls me on it. I grin, and she tells me to drop the act. She's the one person who refuses to fall for my games, who somehow slips past every defense I've ever built. And with her, I'm starting to see the shadows I live among. Sounds simple? It's not. Life has its own twisted sense of humor, and fate is a cunning fox that delights in making things messy. I want her, but I've got attachment issues that could bury us both. She wants me, but her commitment issues make her run every time. And together, we're tangled in pasts that haunt us, presents that hurt, and futures that we're terrified to face. This is the story of what happens when two broken people collide, each one daring the other to start taking risks.

Sixteen years ago, my sisters and I moved from France to the United States to live the American dream. Not long after, I met Declan, a marine who was home for his mother's funeral. He was my everything, my world, and the love of my life. Four and a half years later, I became his fiancée. Then, when I thought everything was going well, my world ended when I awoke to him gone. No note, no nothing. He was just gone. I waited days, weeks, and months to hear from him and for his return. That never happened. Then, I met Chadwick, who took the pieces of my broken heart and put them back together. He promised me many things during our dating years, guaranteeing he'd give me the world. And he was. Then, after years of not wanting to give my entire heart to him, fearing he'd do what Declan had done, I pushed the fear of him leaving me aside and married him. The night we married, instead of giving me the world he promised, I was gifted a nightmare. For over six years, I lived in a lake of fire. If I wasn't locked in a dark, cold room for days on end, day and night, I was tormented, punished, abused, and tortured in the blackest darkness until I could no longer see, talk, or move. Maltreating me until he broke me. Finally, one of my prayers was answered when an ally close to Chadwick helped me escape the prison of hell. She flew me out of New York and brought me to her friend's home in Mobile, Alabama, where I got the shock of my life. He wasn't just her "friend." He was a ghost from my past, and now I'm in his care. Oh, and he has a child nearly as old as our breakup.

BOOK ONE: Having enough courage to run through the woods and away from the people who convinced me they were saving me was not how I believed I'd spend my day. Yet, there I went escaping from the only place I knew existed in the world. Being held captive was too much for me, especially when these people wouldn't tell me who they were or even who I was. The first moment in my life I recall very clearly. I awoke in a dark room, with recollection of everything that happened in the world except for one thing. I had no memory of myself existing, I didn't know where I was or why these men kept me from leaving. Days after I first woke I asked plenty of questions, and yet none of them were answered. The only thing I learned was that I was not allowed outside because the woods heald the most powerful magic on the planet, the most dangerous magic. It was more than just bad men and curiosity about the forest that got me to leave, it was a pull towards something; towards magic. Once I was in the forest turning back was never an option, so I put it in my head that I'd keep walking until I found a civilization or a nice paved road that would lead to safety. But that never happened because the forest has a force living through it. Believing that the forest held something strange was the easy part but experiencing it myself was something totally different. I didn't expect anything normal but I didn't expect to be completly engulfed into the forest. I was led by an unknown presence that made me truly believe it was a living being, and in fact it is. I was innocent then, but now I know that anything can be hidden under a small platform in the woods with a secret bigger than the world itself. I was given life that day, until it all ended months later; the day I took my last breath.

The Best Kept Secret!

7 parts Complete Mature

They say what's in the past keep it in the past but I wanted to know all about my past. It was things that I didn't know and that I wanted and needed to know! But my life turned upside down when my past is exactly what I should have left alone. Now if you ask me how it all began, I don't exactly remember but I know it started when I moved in with my grandma who I haven't met in all my twenty years of living. I have been in and out of foster homes since I can remember, living with families I knew nothing about. Being the outcast and them constantly asking me what's wrong because I simply did not speak. The only thing that kept me sane was my good grades throughout school. I got the satisfaction of doing the one thing that people kept telling me over and over I couldn't do. I stayed to myself and graduated high school with honors, getting a full-ride scholarship to any college of my choice. Of course, by having this accomplishment, it didn't make it any easier for me between my foster families. To them, I became the girl who was better than them. But I didn't care because when I turned twenty I finally got to start making my own choices. This is where I wonder if the first choice I made was the right one. The first choice I made was to go live off-campus with my grandmother during my first semester in college. I ask myself how could I be so stupid? But you will see just how stupid I was. Or was I?
