The Narrator creates the Stanley Parable Reassurance Bucket so that Stanley can feel less bored while he is in the Parable. Stanley is fascinated that he has something that's as close to a comfort object that he will ever have.

Meanwhile, the Narrator observes Stanley and the bucket and wonders why he is so obsessed with it. It's becoming more than a comfort object at this point. Stanley is treating the bucket like a person.

The Narrator is confused as to why Stanley can't just talk to him if he wants someone to talk to.

The reason Stanley gives makes the Narrator feels things that he has never felt before.
