Derek Hale doesn't let anybody in; not even his own pack. The pack's skinny, defenseless tagalong—Stiles—is no exception. Derek finds the human to be immensely annoying with his hyperactivity, tendency to ramble, and his laundry list of nicknames for Derek. Despite wanting to rip his throat out every once in a while, Derek can't help but find himself responsible for Stiles on more than one occasion.
As if Stiles had, somehow, become a part of his pack. And in doing so, had somehow become a part of Derek himself.
