It's been a long time since most ruins from the ancients were beaten to rubble and ground down to dust, but much like the people it sought to destroy, the weapon-or rather plague that lifted the headsman's axe is long from gone. If only it had been so merciful...

Aubrey White is pretty much an ordinary person. Period. She lives in the walls and dies in the walls. Just like all of the other perfectly interesting and unique people that live and breathe in the new world's capital, when her blood runs cold and she draws her last breath, she is normal. To have been born in the walls of Lily Cove, and to die in its embrace, she is not unique.
