Whilst out hunting, Hale comes across two men fighting against creatures known as the Chitauri, and on helping them soon discovers that one who she saved is anything but ordinary. He is Steve Rogers, the son of the High Lord of Auburndale. 

Only giving him her name, Hale disappears before Steve can even convince her to return to the city with him to be rewarded for her bravery - only to then meet him again some weeks later. 

Finally agreeing to be presented to the High Lord and Lady, Hale is rewarded with the opportunity to take up a position within the Lord's household. Something that will help to provide for her mother for years to come. 

Her job? 

To be Steve's personal guard. 

Hale agrees but this poses as a risk to her and her kind - should anyone find out then it could turn dangerous for everyone who she knows and the man who she has found herself falling in love with...
