Set at the end of Catching Fire, Chaff gives Peeta a warning that allows him to get to the rendezvous point in the arena. He watched as Katniss Everdeen, the girl he had been in love with since he was five, destroyed the arena and allowed the perfect opportunity for the District 13 airship to whisk them to safety. However, when he wakes up without her by his side, he is faced with the rebellion looking for their voice.
What if the Capitol got its hands on Katniss instead of Peeta? What if President Alma Coin got her choice instead of Plutarch? This novella is a glance into how I think the story would change if roles were switched.

What if the famous Mockingjay from the hunger games never killed President coin and killed Snow instead. Katniss Everdeen is married to Peeta Melllark the love of her life and are back in district twelve. Coin kept the games and Prim is still dead. Mrs. Everdeen lives in katniss's old victor home and is a grandmother to twins. Diana Mellark and Finnick Mellark. Gale lives in district two with his own family. Haymitch is a grandfather because he married Katniss's mom after all they went through. Katniss and Peeta's kids are very different. Diana is like Katniss and has her skills with a bow and arrow and hunting. She has her father's talent with a sword, painting, and baking. Finnick on the other hand is like his aunt Prim and grandmother. He likes to take care of people. The story starts with Diana as a seventeen-year-old on the day of the reaping of the 99th hunger games. The Mellarks have a track record for being in love with their district partner. Will it happen again with one of their kids. Also Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch don't have to be mentors. I don't own the characters of the original hunger games.
