Peeta has always been a pawn. For his mother, for the Captial, and now for Coin. Set at the end of Catching Fire, Chaff gives Peeta a warning that allows him to get to the rendezvous point in the arena. He watched as Katniss Everdeen, the girl he had been in love with since he was five, destroyed the arena and allowed the perfect opportunity for the District 13 airship to whisk them to safety. However, when he wakes up without her by his side, he is faced with the rebellion looking for their voice.
What if the Capitol got its hands on Katniss instead of Peeta? What if President Alma Coin got her choice instead of Plutarch? This novella is a glance into how I think the story would change if roles were switched.
