Lyla Clifton stumbled out of the woods, not knowing where she was, barely remembering who she was. All she knew was, she had to get away. She had to run. That's what she had been doing for the past two days, simply running. When she was found, she was more than mistrusting. She was more than frightened. Lyla was downright terrified.

The BAU comes to help find the Unsub as another girl is kidnapped, and that's when she meets him. Spencer Reid. At first, he was there to help her, try and get her to talk. Then it turns into something more. But...what really happened to her when she was taken? What kind of damage took place? Reid needs to find out to help her...but then the trail goes cold. Slowly as the years go by, Lyla makes a career for herself, working in the FBI. She joins the BAU, hoping to help save people, the way she had been saved. But when the case opens up again, will they be able to solve it and find the girl in time? On top of all that happening, Lyla finds herself falling for Dr. Reid. But maybe, just maybe, things might work out for her in all this...
