Despair's inevitability
By h james a. galgano
Dreams once sewn on concrete fields foresworn eternal.
Are soon left for naught within condescending light once diurnal.
Searching for one given moment hopes are harvested by sheer might.
Like some untrue miracle of loaves and fishes to feed voracious un-requite
Within untilled soil whose thirst is unquenched by drought with no reprieve
That starvation soon becomes a familiar unwelcome bringing hope to knees.
There is a despair aroused places each and every dream finally to eternal rest
While lingering aspirations cavort easily with blossoming ideology to detest
But for the grace of so many manmade gods do we all go like lemmings into sea
Left with unshared laughter wrought from the depths of despair dispensed equally.
