UNNO Juza (1897-1949) was a Japanese novelist, science fiction writer, mystery writer, manga artist, and science commentator. Known as the father of Japanese science fiction,he was an author whose works are filled with ideas and mechanisms that are hard to believe were written during the early Showa period. Even in the modern times, his stories retain a freshness that makes them highly recommended for readers.
He is often considered as one of the pioneers of Japanese science fiction. After graduating from Waseda University, he worked at the Ministry of Communications' electrical testing facility while also publishing his stories in magazines and newspapers. Despite being a writer from the early Showa period, UNNO Juza produced numerous works with scientific themes, and their charm remains as innovative and captivating as ever in the modern world.
His influence on Japanese science fiction cannot be overstated. He was a visionary who pushed the boundaries of the genre, exploring themes and concepts that were ahead of his time.
