Being the Chosen One isn't All it's Cracked Up to Be: A Collection of Short Stories

A collection of short stories about different unique takes on the commonly occurring trope of the Chosen One, mainly within the Fantasy and Science Fiction genres, including their many subgenres. Included are three essays: a brief history of the trope as a whole, why people are so drawn to the trope, and why, even when authors try to come with unique ways to tell their Chosen One stories, there tends to be some similar elements between basic plots.
