Failed mission

A one shot where the Villain faked their death and is secretly listening to the hero grieving at their grave

The person turns to leave and gets slammed into a tree, the hero in front of them laughing with a crazed look and fake tears streaming down their face.
"Is this what you'd like to see?.."
The other remains quiet given the fact that a knife is pressed up against their throat. Not scared in the slightest, trying to ignore the attraction they're feeling given the situation.
"Seeing me all broken and sad. Not being able to be in power for once, is that what you wanted? Cause if that is so..." the hero slowly takes the hand that isn't holding the knife and slowly traces their body, finally reaching their hood but doesn't pull it off yet. "Then..." The hero leans closer and whispers, "You've failed your mission."
