after jaune save cardin from the ursa  cardin expose his transcript. everybody hated him he was being bullied by his own friends and team the staff of beacon didn't even bat an eye on him and ozpin expelled him. even his own family disowned him.

but unknown to jaune the arc family wasn't his true family. 

after the event he was in emerald forest fighting some grimms until a portal with a strange insignia on it..when ozpin realize who is jaune  ozpin wants to have an ally to the supernatural faction.Public Domain

This is where it all began.
