Set in where South Korea retained its monarchy since 1945 and after the abdication of the throne was made by the eldest son of the ill Emperor Yunho, Prince Hae-in; the crown and the duty of continuing the legacy of their family was passed down to his younger brother, the newly crowned Prince Jae-Hyun. But nothing comes easy especially in having to one day rule the people of South Korea, particularly the rule that one must get married to be in the line of succession and only person who is suitable to be his consort that will allow him to ascend the throne when the situation requires him was arranged by his late grandfather in agreement with the girl's grandfather, Lee Na-Eun.
