The lights from the festival shined brightly along with the beautiful belt of stars, starting from the tip of the lighthouse which was on the far away edge of the island and into a never ending loop.

Killua watched all of that. He watched how the stars' severity faded into the night only to come back once again, dancing their lights beside the full moon, above the whole town. On the other hand, the town was no more different, each light shining through with colourful streaks.

On the other hand the sky was an inky black canvas, with stars twinkling like tiny diamonds strewn across it. The only sounds that could be heard were the distant chirping of crickets and the occasional rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze.

But then Killua saw it.

Suddenly, the tranquillity of the night was shattered by a burst of vivid colours as fireworks exploded into the sky. Bright reds, blues, greens, and yellows painted the darkness, creating an awe-inspiring display that illuminated everything in its path.

Each explosion of light was accompanied by a loud boom that echoed through the air, adding to the excitement of the moment. The colourful explosions seemed to dance against the backdrop of the dark sky, as if each one was performing a beautiful choreographed routine.

Killua realised at that moment that he had never experienced this kind of excitement before.

And this was all thanks to Gon.

The tree was a little damp as I was leaning on it, yet, I didn't mind. I continued reading my book as small snowflakes fell from the sky, I slowly brushed them away, as they got in my way. I had seen Nana hiding behind one of the trees, but I pretended that I hadn't seen her. Nana was wearing her usual winter outfit, the denim brings out her eyes and hair, although I don't think she knows this. She'd placed on the light hoodie on top of that, then her navy fluffy coat. Nana pounced onto me, hugging me by the waist. I smiled, and she gave me an immature, cheeky grin, like a three-year-old, "You're late." I answered, closing the book. I shrugged, "So, what was it you needed to tell me? In this weather." I asked her, pointing up at the dark, prominent clouds, covering the natural blue sky. Nana took a deep breath, standing upright in front of me, "Well, you know how the holidays are coming up..." she began. ⎡ UPDATED COVER ➜ OCTOBER 15TH, 2022 ⎦ Story Began: 02/08/2021 Finished: 26/2/2022 Editing Completed: 3/4/2022 (ALTERNATE UNIVERSE)

I had barely made it a step when I say a man walking towards me. He too had a digital clock thing on top of his head too, except his had todays date, September 10th, and his timer read, 00:00:12. I didn’t know what to expect, but I wanted to see what happened when the clock clicked down, so I stood and watched him. 00:00:09, 00:00:08, 00:00:07, 00:00:06, 00:00:05, 00:00:04, 00:00:03, :00,00:02. I didn’t know what to assume for 00, but I watched patiently as he looked both ways and crossed the road, and then, just like clockwork, 00:00:00, and a car came speeding out of nowhere, and knocked the man down. He was dead. Somehow, between him dying and me freaking out, I had an epiphany; I saw when people were going to die.
