Lucy is a teacher. Tim is a sergeant. She meets him at a coffee shop early one morning. It is almost love at first sight. Not that Tim would ever admit it out loud. 

After a string of bad relationships, Lucy still believes in true love. But, a lingering threat of an ex-boyfriend complicates things. 

All Tim has ever wanted was a wife, children, the white picket fence, and a dog. However, with his crazy work hours and dangerous job, it is not easy meeting anyone. Throw in a disastrous first marriage, and Tim has pretty much given up on his childhood dream. 

Enter the Mid-Wilshire family. They practically adopt Lucy and Tamara into their family and scheme to get the two most oblivious people together.
