I stand looking up at the reaping stage. We are stood in neat lines, I am near the back with the rest of the 16 year olds. I wait for Clementine Hart to come out of the tall, oak doors: dressed up in her bright, fancy dresses with elaborate patterns that anyone could see from a mile here in district 10. As she steps out of the doors - her shoes clicking on the stage piercing the silence that was always present on reaping days - I hold my breath: consumed with the thought of how much power this woman holds over my future.
