For several years now it had just been her and her adopted sister April living together. They had both been adopted by Elio and Alice Benjamin, an older couple whose dream had just been to give a home to a couple of kids who didn't have that safe place to call home. When the sisters were 17 their parents died in a bad drunk driver car crash and they had been on their own since then. Now, they've been discovering powers and many other things about themselves and the world and they've learned to just keep going. April didn't talk about where she had come from before being adopted and Zöe wasn't sure if her sister remembered where she had come from. And Zöe didn't know at all where she herself had come from before, all she knew was that she was at the orphanage and then she got adopted and was told that she wasn't allowed to know anything about her previous family. April knew more than she let on, but, that's for later on in the story, isn't it...

Outside the walls
War had just broke out between the states of America. Two states remained. Yet only one wins. One state had won by peace and one state had won by destruction. The day of the fight, the state of distinction launched a nuke. Yet they had under estimated the power the nuke had. It destroyed both states and it had seemed that no one remained. 3 years latter and a little city had grown out of the destruction. Emma was a resident of that city. His love for Veirin, the desire of continuing with his plans and solving the mysteries of the protagonist, eventually makes his emotions conflict with each other. After the Villain is defeated, Veirin is no longer bound by chains that keep her emotions from growing. Once she gains freedom from the burden that held her down for a decade or so, she eventually changes her mind about not picking a side. Her emotions begin to grow and she starts to let it surface, despite them feeling strange to her since she's not used to it; love grows and her horizon expands...Concluida
