Friends

In the present: Nick and his best friend, Nathan, are in their a situation- which is... what exactly? With Nick unable to speak, clues are gathered from Nathan as to where they're situated, what's happening around them, and how they got there.

In the past: In second grade, Nick befriends a boy named Ian, whose best friend has recently died of cancer. Nick and Ian soon become best friends, but a sudden and tragic event quickly ends the friendship.

Through two of Nick's friendships, we see how history has a funny way of repeating itself to everyone. While tragedy exists in the world, something good is sure to come along afterward. The world exists in balance, after all.
