Sabine is a supposed runaway orphan at sixteen who ends up literally running into a ruthless prince by the name of Vlad III  Draculesti and the Voivode of Wallachia Vlad's overseer of his castle is Victor Dascălu and Sabine is greeted with loving arms by Victor. The daughter he never had.

Two years have passed, and Prince Draculesti has returned to discover Sabine is not the skinny girl of two years ago but a beautiful woman the age of eighteen. Sabine has caught his lustful eye but is a handful by preferring to dress like a young man and gather intel on the local area for spies. So Vlad decides to have Sabine be his valet while at home and traveling to Hungary.

Her Willfulness and His Arogance make for a rough road towards any romantic notions and having future male heirs. Sabine also has a secret first love named Anna, the innkeeper's daughter, and they become secretly married while Lord Draculesti attempts to convince Sabine to be his. 

Will Lord Draculesti's envy of the couple prevent a fairytale happy ending?
