Rowan does not, I repeat NOT, feel anything out of the ordinary for his best friend Reece. The fact that she is accompanying him to his relatives week-long family get-together over the holidays as his 'date' means NOTHING.
Of course, there's the slight abnormality of his memory lapses between full moons, ridiculously high temperature and heart rate, and the fact that his day seems to brighten by the mere mention of her name, but he DOES NOT feel anything for her!
