Leah's gaze lifted up from the dead body lying on the floor, right beneath her that she'd killed in the most gruesome manner. Her gaze moved from the dead body, to her best friend, Jennifer, seated against the walls of the dark and empty room, bleeding and exhausted to the point of dizziness and then to her injured beloved lover, staring at her in fear- looking at her eyes that once held innocence and purity, which... now, solely held insanity.
Her gaze softened as she sensed the fear of her beloved. "Don't be afraid, I-" Leah murmured to him in an assuring manner, before slowly slogging towards him, despite the pain due to the wounds on her knees, only for her beloved to flinch and writh in agony and terror. Leah stopped on her tracks as she noticed that the attempt for reassuring and soothing him, definitely did NOT work.
The faint sounds of the police cars, turned clearer, as the closer it approached the abandoned house, in the remote area.
"She committed a gruesome murder-"
The cops stated the possible assumption, after observing the crime scene. Jennifer, while getting moved outside the house, into the ambulance.
"She- she... She didn't do anything! It was all out of self defence... please-"
Jennifer said, in a sore voice, trying to utter out pleas and to defend Leah. Her frail body couldn't do anything at that moment. And her weak voice, couldn't be heard at all. Her eyes caught the sight of Leah's hands being cuffed by an officer as she held her head and her gaze down, without uttering a word.
Leah, from the corner of her eyes, looked at her love and then her best friend, before she was taken to the police car.
