Haru, along with his 20 year old brother Jay, live in a hell of a household. Their mother Leilani left them due to their father being abusive. She couldn't take her children with her due to some reasons at court. Greg Carter finds another woman, Grace, who acts like Haru's and Jay's mother. She's not the same as Leilani. She's very much the same as their father, dare they still call him that.

Haru's best friend Cameron Miller commits suicide. What that does to Haru has many effects on him, even Jay who's worried about his little brother taking Cam's death very badly. The doctors around are trying anything to get that boy out of Nigel his mind, and when they don't succeed, they decide to use electroshock therapy for that. As Nigel threats to lose Alex, the connection between the two fades a lot. Alex has barely enough strength to stay around, and gets forced to find a body before he disappears forever. Strangely enough a patient passes by during Nigel his therapy. A suspicious girl that always wants to know everything that's going around. Since she is the only weak person of them all in a near distance, Alex gets into her body - being forced to share it with another soul. As soon as Nigel realizes that the girl isn't just somebody, and they can't get away from each other, there's only one option left. But what will happen? Will Alex get his body back? That is, until Caleb remembers the reason that he tried to commit suicide in the first place, revealing a secret that shatters his new found confidence. As things at home begin to deteriorate too, Caleb’s situation goes from bad to worse. The only person who knows the truth, Dr Palmer, leaves him to stand on his own two feet, declaring him cured. He starts back at college full time, and becomes ever closer with Stephanie, the only person whom he feels that he can trust. When his own father attacks his mother, Caleb begins to think that the police are on to him, trying to unravel his past, thinking that they have realised what happened to cause him to try to commit suicide. However, they are just trying to build a case against his father. In desperation, Caleb tried to reach out to Dr Palmer, against the advice of his mother. As his life spirals out of control, Dr Palmer makes him realise that the only way he can carry on is to come clean and reveal his secret. In a shocking final twist, everything is revealed to be not what it seems, and Caleb finds out that he will be ok, no matter what happens to him.

His quicksilver eyes were filled with such an intense, carnal desire I couldn't even look into them, so I looked over his shoulder. I saw a few kids from the group standing out by their cars who would easily be able to see what we were doing...or at least what Leo was doing to me. At that moment, my mind started wandering to all the things that I could be doing to him right now...but I stopped that train of thought immediately, as it started heading to all the wrong places... All the dirty places. I glanced back at Leo. His gaze was still as intense as it was before. He smirked at me and said confidently, "You can't ignore me forever, Ethan. You're eventually gonna fall for my charms..." Ethan Carter was focused on 2 things. 1. School (obviously) and 2. Getting over ex (it's proving to be, harder than he thought), but now he has to add dying to that list, and suddenly having feelings for a boy. Leo Malone makes Ethan feel things he's never felt for another guy. Leo's sweet, patient, and understanding...the only problem is, he's a guy. Ethan tries to ignore the fact that his heart flutters every time he sees Leo, or that he can't ever stop thinking about him, but if having cancer has taught him one thing, it's that you have to live in the present, as you may not have a future.
