Awaiting Descent
Awaiting descent
By james a. galgano
Within each gale autumn leaves swirl or swoon in a storm driven ballet
Until each gust falters and like cigarette ashes descend so helplessly
Landing hopelessly upon every surface welcoming each arrival conveyed
At long last accepting where final resting place is received so willingly
Like some welcoming heart captured by within such blistery night portrayed
Like bird of prey awaiting surrender below where your appetite awaits eternally
To devour every misapprehension like it was a dessert you for so long surveyed.
Beneath every peering eye that clings claws upon available line above so intently
