I can turn wool into gold which is why I've been used to make my family rich. Once poor sheep farmers, now richer than we could possibly imagine! Except I'm left doing all the work. I don't mind giving them food for their belies and my own, but now it's just abuse, all day and all night. Finally I run away from them and find myself in another home except they claim I'm here to hurt the little girl who mustn't be around a spinning wheel because then she'll die. Seems a bit dramatic, but they banish me to the woods where I won't be able to hurt anyone ever again. Living in solitude and only going into a small town on the edge of the woods for necessities I make a life for myself. But when a miller's son comes to ask me for help to use my power can I? Can I let him use me like other's have? Or should I just keep being the witch who lures unsuspecting children to my home with candy? At least other's believe this tale and it keeps me safe from being used by anyone ever again.

The story tells how a little girl did everything she can to save her Village from the wolf, but when her Guardian/Witch of the Village comes up with a potion to turn the wolf human (again), they believe everything to go right again, but the potion only turns the beast slightly humane. He still has command over some supernatural abilities, and Madiline (the main female character) takes the situation into her own hands by sacrificing herself. In this story there is a series of Folk tales put into this script that goes along with the story line, for example The Boy Who Cried, "Wolf," is one, and oddly enough Little Red Riding Hood, because oddly enough Madiline wears her Red Hood since she was young. He had already been going through enough and this old witch wasn't helping. He then yelled at her to leave him be and to find her own "stupid plants". The witch wasn't happy, in fact, his blind rudeness angered her. So, she cursed him to mortality for 3 months. If he didn't learn how to handle hardships and what it's like being a human in that time frame, he would die. Jack soon meets an unexpected rescuer who takes him in and cares for him. Not only is he fighting against time, but the Boogyman decides to make Jack a target. Will he learn his lesson? Or will he die in 3 months time? If he is to survive, what will happen next? What will happen to Pitch? **This book is not all light hearted, there are serious topics included in it.**

Go away and enjoy the festival, and leave me alone! We don't know each other! If he is so insistent on taking me with him, then there is no other choice: I will run away from home! Mother, father, Lanto...I'm sorry. I hope your heads don't roll because of this. I sincerely enjoyed our time together. I learnt a lot from my father. Maybe becoming a wandering witch is not so bad... ... Isn't this how reincarnation stories usually go? With an obsessed male lead who suddenly shows interest in the reincarnated protagonist? But I'm completely honest when I say I will never marry or fall in love with this dude. And no, it's not just the usual 'protagonist who will later be proved wrong' talk. I will not let this become a cliche, damn it!
