Every summer, when her older children Adrian and Vanessa went away to camp, Melanie Sloane took her twins Scarlett and Hunter for two fun-filled weeks at the beach.

Ingrid and Hunter Sloane became fast friends with Harper and Hayden McKenzie, the twin daughters of Charles and Olivia McKenzie, but it was their oldest daughter Skylar, that Ingrid became attached to.

Skylar McKenzie, is the oldest daughter of Dr. Charles and Olivia McKenzie has always been well loved by everyone that meets her. Most expected her to follow in her fathers footsteps and become a surgeon, but Sky's first love was softball. After 3 NCAA titles, and 3 Olympic Gold medals, she decided to go into nursing like her Mom, until she eventually became Transplant Coordinator at UF Shands.

As successful as she is, she lacks the one thing she craves. Love. Being born different made her shy away from love, afraid people would not accept her.

A tragic accident brings an old friend back into her life.

Will that old friend admit her feelings for Sky before it's too late?

"It's always been you, Phoenix. You are the one who makes me the happiest. Just being in the same room as you gives me god damn butterflies. Hearing the sound of your voice makes me feel safe and protected. And when you left for college, home didn't feel like home anymore. That's when I realized that home wasn't just a house or a place you live at...for me, it was you." Scarlett Wolf has the looks of her father but the sass, class, and kindest soul from her mother. She wears her heart on her sleeve and there is only one person on earth who takes up the biggest part of it. The one who she has been desperately in love with since diapers and the one who has never seen her as anything other than just a little girl. Phoenix Zeller has the rugged looks, charm, and cluelessness from his father but the passionate and protective heart from his mother. He's serious and stubborn at times, but when he finally opens up, he is the biggest sweetheart you'll ever know. And just when he thinks he has a good grasp on life, a little "Wolf" will come along to flip his world upside down in the best way possible. **This is book two of my "Out of" series. Book one is called "Out of Left Field" which is about the parents of the characters in this story. It is currently on the Chapters app, but I will be slowly transferring it over to Wattpad. You do not have to read book one first. Just know that there may be a few very simple details you would be missing.** Copyright © 2020 by Jenna Stephens All rights reserved. This is a reverse grumpy x sunshine, childhood ex best friends college hockey romance. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Maeve Nova Leigh-Foster. She's the girl I've known since I was five years old. The only thing I knew that was right at such a young age. But when we're forced apart and reunited over seven years later, nothing's the same. She hates me as much as I love her. She can't even look at me when all I can do is stare. She doesn't even breathe in my direction when all I want is her. But do I take the hints that she doesn't want me around? No. I plan on earning her back even if it opens things from our past that leaves us both even more heartbroken than the start.
