Lee Jongmin was a young boy born to a family of musicians. His father was bassist of local band where his grandfather, a jazz musician himself operates a local lounge. Seeing two generations of talent right in front of his eyes, he decides to continue his family's legacy and pursue music himself. After a series of street performances, he catches the attention of Lee Sooman who watched him sing his heart out. 

Seeing the opportunity of joining the biggest agency, he instantly joins to debut in SM's next boygroup aimed to fill the void left by Shinhwa.
