This book shows what it's like to be in eighteen year old Alani's shoes after losing her father and living with her aunt. On top of that, she also struggles with anxiety and is trying to find peace within herself.

In the midst of doing so, she re-connects with an old friend and meets the upcoming Bronx rapper, Kay Flock. After sometime of being around each other, the two develop feelings for one another and take things to a new level while being in a relationship.

Kay isn't really good at love and neither is Alani but they're willing to try for each other.
