Life has never seemed more serene than as I lay dying. Blood coats the forest floor beneath me, connecting with the foilage-covered soil in a parade of musty, copper smells. Through the rain drops that fall on me from the treetops, I can feel the icy breath of a dawning winter. It will be cold this year. It's a shame Ill never see it- I love the cold. Most cold. This cold that envelopes me now is hostile and uninviting, almost empty. They say that when you're faced with death, your life flashes before your eyes. The same could not be said for me. Heart of the Wolf
A human took everything from her. To escape the pain and heart wrenching emotions of loss, she fled into her wolf form and into the wilderness. At first, the brutal life bothered her, but soon she became more beast then girl. One night though, an enemy pack invades her packs territory and she is injured during the fight. When she wakes, she is in human form and a park ranger sits above her, tending to her. She had vowed to never take human form again, but something about him calls to her. She feels torn. Ayn's Healing
Ayn is a witch with healing powers. Shapeshifters have killed her parents and the only animals she cannot speak with are wolves. When she graduates from the Teaching Clan and finds out that she has to cross the River and live in the Wolves' Mountains for one year, she is less than amused.
