Told from the perspective of Eris Makani:
In Kalani, Hawaii it's the start of senior year.
Eris would be excited if she had her best friends to go into the new school year with, but for some unfound reason, her friend group separated during summer.
Eris believes the school year will be full of college applications and pretending to not notice when she passes one of her old friends in the halls.
But she's proved wrong when a student at her highschool is found dead in the school's spandrel and it shakes her even more when it's ruled as a homicide.
The four old friend's have one thing in common and that's their curiosity.
So their nosiness rekindles their lost friendship as they all begin to work together to catch the murderer lurking around their school.
