"Shallow water overtides" pulled by the lug of lunar voids, shifting cross-winds, and a washed out mist-covered moon connect to one big, bright star, and now reveal the falling peak of another day: one more 24, lost to memory.
When it happens-the day dissolving into twilight, then evening-it always happens so much faster than we expect, and we are standing unready, not in the changing moment; we do not change, but the day (and time) has. The 'natural' world is like that.
A peal of thunder exploded from the sky, so close that everyone in the park screamed and ducked. Two crooked bolts of glowing, electrified white heat snapped from the heavens-one shot into the earth like a laser.
